These easy arts and craft projects will keep your youngest Fourth of July party guests happy while waiting for the light show.
The typical Fourth of July party often consists of festive foods, games, party poppers and sometimes sparklers. As an additional activity for party visitors, prepare an arts and crafts station complete with crayons, stickers, Fourth of July coloring pages, pre-cut construction paper, glue, and ribbon or yarn. Hand out craft goody bags containing necessary items for the following crafts to your guests upon arrival.

Red, white, and blue beads
Stretch cord
Ziploc baggies

Tie a knot in one end of the cord.
Next string beads on the cord in red, white, and blue order.
Knot both ends together.
Construction Paper Quilts
Although there is some dispute over whether or not Betsy Ross was the creator of the first United States Flag, her name is associated with it. Betsy Ross was a seamstress also known for her quilting ability.
Items Needed:
Construction paper pieces cut into 4-inch squares
Hole punch
Yarn
Patriotic themed stickers or Alphabet stickers
Directions:
Punch 3 holes down each side of the paper squares.
Place two squares together side by side and string a piece of yarn through. Next string another piece of yarn through and tie the ends together.
Continue this method until all of the squares are sewn together with the yarn.
Each quilt should consist of at least 9 squares, having placed 3 squares horizontally and 3 squares vertically to create a large 12 inch by 12 inch piece.
After the paper squares are tied together, decorate them with patriotic themed stickers or write out Fourth of July on the paper quilt using the alphabet stickers.
In addition to these craft components, include July 4th themed dot-to-dot pages and Fourth of July coloring pages. Also, include light sticks, light-up bracelets, or miniature flashlights in the goody bags for a luminous show without the danger of fireworks.
