Fun Easter Morning Activities for ChildrenGames, Activities, Products from the Easter Bunny Will Delight Kids
Here are three things the Easter Bunny can do to entertain and surprise children on Easter Sunday morning.
All young children love hopping up from bed on Easter Sunday to see what the Easter Bunny brought them. From chocolate bunnies and jelly beans to Cadbury eggs and little toys, it's always fun to see what surprises await in colorful Easter baskets. This year, parents (oops, the Easter Bunny) might consider putting a new twist on the traditional plastic eggs and conventional methods of leaving Easter baskets on the dining room table at the foot of children's beds. Here are a few suggestions: Hide 'Em & Find 'Em EggsThese "electronic talking eggs" have little sound chips inside them, so children will be enthralled when they hear, "Yoo-hoo, I'm hiding!" or "I'm over here!" as they set out on their Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning. Parents flip and on/off switch to activate the sound effects, which last for 30 minutes – be sure to time it right! Once kids find the eggs, they can open them up to find a little chick or bunny inside – and there's room for a little bit of additional candy, too. The plastic eggs by Techno Source come in six different colors. They are sold at Wal-Mart, Target and Rite-Aid: $4.99 for one, or $14.99 for four. Yarn Maze to Easter BasketsAttach a piece of yarn to your child's door (or bedside table), then wind it all throughout the house to lead to a hidden Easter basket. What's fun is when families with multiple children weave differently colored balls of yarn all through the house, criss-crossing one another to cause all sorts of confusion! One important tip: don't block stairwells or other exits to the house in case of an emergency. Consider confining the yarn maze to one section of the house that is under-utilized, or otherwise wouldn't cause any problems if the family needs to get out of the house quickly. Treasure Hunt to Easter BasketsHere's another way to have kids "work" to find their Easter baskets. Leave one piece of paper near their bed, or someplace they'll be sure to see it, which might contain a simple note like, "Go to the living room TV for your next clue," or some sort of more difficult clue to lead them through the house on a treasure hunt. For pre-readers, you could use cut-out magazine images to lead them to the refrigerator, dog bowl, bathtub, etc., on a hunt that ultimately ends at the coveted Easter basket. Families with competitive children might think about having individual treasure hunt clues for each child, so there is no "racing" through the house and no cries of, "I found the clue first!" Hide 'Em & Find 'Em eggs, yarn mazes and treasure hunts to Easter Baskets – no matter how you celebrate Easter Sunday morning, enjoy!
