Essential Items for a Harry Potter Halloween Costume
There are a few essential items needed for a Harry Potter costume. This includes the hair style, round glasses and famous lightning bolt scar:
- Round Glasses: The round-framed glasses are a trademark of Harry Potter. For those who don't already wear glasses, find a pair of round, dark framed glasses without lenses. Costume glasses can be purchased at any Halloween supply store. Cheap glasses can also be purchased at dollar stores, simply remove the lenses after purchasing.
- The Hair: Harry has very dark, messy hair. For those with dark hair, a little gel will help create that messy look. For others with lighter colored hair, consider picking up a dark wig at a costume supply store.
- The Scar: To create Harry's famous lightning shaped scar on his forehead, use a bit of pink/peach colored makeup or costume makeup to draw the scar outline.
