Impress your child and her friends by introducing some amusing, festive games and activities they might just go home talking about!

There is a lot to do in preparing for a holiday party, especially when you're hosting for your child: treats, goodie bags, Holiday Crafts, and most importantly, entertainment. It isn't a party without the fun, and there isn't any fun without any games! Some ideas are suggested below to give you a head start with planning the excitement for your kid's party.

Pin the Nose on Rudolph

Find some clip art on the Internet or create a Rudolph with home materials and tape on your wall. You can either purchase red circle stickers or, again, create red circles to print off your PC and cut out. When it's time to play the game, if you're using the homemade noses, attach tape on the back at each child's turn. Play just like you would for pin the tail on the donkey!

Christmas Candy Jar Guessing Game

Visit your local dollar or thrift store and purchase a holiday plastic cookie/candy jar. Fill it with yummy goodies like holiday colored M&Ms, peppermints, gum drops, etc. Display the jar wherever the party is going to be held with a sign that your child can decorate explaining the game. "Guess how many candies are in this jar, and win it!"

Guess the Christmas Cookie

Before the party, have your child help you bake 2-3 different batches of cookies. Some suggestions are chocolate chip, snicker doodles, oatmeal raisin, and chocolate. Be sure to have plenty for everyone! When the game begins, have a holiday tin can to hide a cookie in. Without the kid's seeing, place a cookie in the tin can and have a blindfolded child smell the cookie to see if he can guess what it is. Make sure someone is keeping score! If they can't guess by smell, taste is the last try! Each child should be able to eat his game cookie, and whoever guessed her cookie right can go home with a bag of them!

Snowflake Blowing Race

This game is sure to entice a bunch of giggles and smiles. Line up a set of kids (all or in groups) at one end of the kitchen floor. Make sure each child is given a straw, and place a cotton ball in front of him (he should be on all fours). When the race begins, children have to blow the "snow balls" with their straw to the finish line (wherever you suggest it is). Whoever gets their snowball across the finish first, wins the game!

Snowman Dress-Up Race

This activity requires a few different types of hats, scarves, coats, boa's, and whatever other accessory you can think of that a snowkid might want to wear! Throw everything in one large pile and separate the kids into groups, selecting one to be the snowman (or you can draw from a bowl to keep things fair). Make sure to have some fast going Christmas music playing in the background as the race begins on who can dress her snowman the fastest.

Hide the Santa Hat

Let the kids go on a unique treasure hunt: find Santa's hat! Before the guests arrive, hide the hat in a location the kids will be allowed to be in. Sometime during the party, announce the hunt, sit back, and watch how crazy and excited the kids will get trying to find the hat first. Of course, offer a prize to the winner (goodie bag or some yummy treats).

Hopefully these fun, engaging activities will provide a night (or day) full of joy and laughter, along with giving each child a truly memorable experience . . . especially your own!

I have another idea for a great time at kids' parties: a treasure hunt. Treasure Hunt: A Book of Clues for Partieswill give you all kinds of great ideas, plus step-by-step instructions (you can always modify, to suit your needs) to help you, if you need it. The ideas in this book are very creative -- and the kids will love it! This book has just a ton of neat ideas.

these are all grest games.I suggest that u find more games for this site. The snowfalke blowing game is great christmas game.A game that i suggest is called SANTA SAYS.how you play the game is simple and easy, its the exact same way you would play simon says, but you replace the word simon for santa. For example--- SANTA SAYS... hop on one foot. The person that is telling the children what to do is called SANTA'S HELPER.
I Thought that this is a great easy and fun way to keep the children entartained for a while.
Kids will really like it!!

Just wanted to comment on the Treasure Hunt idea. Kids love an adventure and making them find their gifts with clues is easy when all the clues are provided to use in your own home. Why just hand them gifts when you can have so much more fun helping them find them with clues? The clues invite guest participation and you can use your own talents and imagination to modify the clues to fit your family and theme. It's great for adult gift giving as well.
