In the United States, Presidents Day is a national holiday that is celebrated on the 3rd Monday of February. Up until 1971, Americans celebrated both Abraham Lincoln and George Washington’s birthdays in February. In 1971, President Richard Nixon combined the two separate Washington and Lincoln holidays into one national holiday, Presidents Day.
